'Battletoads & Double Dragon' Physical Collector's Edition Open for Pre-Orders

The physical re-release includes goodies, only being available to pre-order until May 22, 2022.

The 1993 crossover between two legendary Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) franchises is getting a physical re-release thanks to Retro-Bit for $59.99USD. Pre-Orders are open at CastleMania Games, Limited Run Games, and more.


The collector's edition includes:

  • NES cartridge

  • Numbered case

  • Fully-coloured instruction manual

  • Acrylic Stand for cartridge display

The "Battletoads & Double Dragon" works on all NES systems, including third-party retro systems that can run NES games.


Pre-Orders for the re-release started yesterday, and according to Retro-Bit, are available at:

Pre-Orders end May 22, 2022 on all websites that list "Battletoads & Double Dragon."

"Battletoads & Double Dragon" also released in 1994 for the Sega Genesis, 1995 in North America.


"Battletoads & Double Dragon" was developed by Rare, who developed the "Battletoads" games. Tradewest, developers of the "Double Dragon" titles, published "Battletoads & Double Dragon" in the 1990s.

"Battletoads" was released in 1991, with the first "Double Dragon" released in 1988. Both NES titles are beat 'em ups.


The only changes made to "Battletoads & Double Dragon" itself is the licensing.
