The community event is called March Through Time, which showcases Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s teachings of Civil Rights in "Fortnite."
March Through Time lets players view Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s full "I Have a Dream" speech. Players will also explore a reimagined Washington, D.C. from back in 1963, including the Lincoln Memorial and the United States National Mall.
March Through Time includes quests that players can complete together, alongside "museum-like points of interest," Ryan Broseker, Community Manager at Epic Games, said in a PlayStation Blog. Completing all challenges/quests apart of the event unlocks a new locker spray.
March Through Time is a collaboration between TIME Studios, an award-winning immersive and television studio with an audience of over 100 million people, and Fortnite Creative Community users: GQUanoe, YU7A, ChaseJackman, and XWDFr.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an Civil Rights activist who was the leader of the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration of contemporary times in the United States, spoke many times about Civil Rights across the country, won a Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 35, and more.
"We hope the March Through Time experience inspires the community to promote mutual respect and empathy towards all people no matter their race, religion, or orientation," said Ryan Broseker.
I don't play fortnite, but I gotta say, that is pretty thoughtful of them to make an entire section about Martin Luther King Jr.
