Sadako from 'The Ring' Joins 'Dead by Daylight' Along with a New Survivor Now

The new chilling chapter DLC for "Dead by Daylight," Chapter XIII, costs $6.99USD.

"The Sadako Rising" DLC for "Dead by Daylight" has officially added The Onryō as a killer. The new survivor is a grown-up Yoichi Asakawa, from the 1998 "The Ring" movie, based on Yoko Asakawa from the novel(s).

As found out during the public test build, Sadako is invisible to players unless they're 32 metres away from her. Sadako must physically manifest to attack survivors.

Sadako can also physically materialize by projecting through a television.

Yoichi Asakawa, the new survivor, has Survivor Perks such as hearing the dead, heals survivors 10 per cent faster, injured survivors can sense Asakawa's location within 96 metres, and more.

"The Ring" movies are based on the 1991 Japanese novel "Ring," also known as "Ringu." "Ring" is about people investigating a strange videotape causing mysterious deaths. Whoever watches the videotape has seven days to live, as told through a phone call.

"Dead by Daylight" was developed by Behaviour Interactive Inc. and released in 2016 for PC. Other versions, such as the Xbox One & PlayStation 5 versions, released in 2017 to 2020.

In "Dead by Daylight," players play as either one of the survivors who try to escape by turning on generators to open the gate to freedom, or a killer who must kill all the survivors.

"Dead by Daylight" is most notable for its inclusion of iconic horror movie killers, such as Freddy Kreuger, Leatherface, and more.

The title of "Ring" for the novel comes from how Sadako's curse never ends.
