Sonic the Hedgehog Crossovers with ‘SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2’

The iconic Sonic the Hedgehog is having a crossover with the "Shin Megami Tensei" (SMT) universe as part of his 30th Anniversary until July 7.

Sonic will be a summon in “SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2” until 10:59 p.m. on July 7, PDT. In EST, Sonic will be available until 1:59 a.m. on July 8.

“SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2” is a mobile phone gacha game released in 2018, featuring the demons from the “Shin Megami Tensei” series. The series is known for its difficulty, compelling stories with its alignments of Law and Chaos, and more.

“Shin Megami Tensei” is a spin-off series of “Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei,” a series of novels turned into two games exclusively for the Nintendo Famicom.

The “Megami Tensei” series' most popular spin-off series is “Persona." In "Persona," players have both human allies and demons to help fight, with more modern settings.

“SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2” takes story elements of the “Persona” series with a more simplified version of the “Megami Tensei” combat system.

“SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2” is also published by SEGA, hence the crossover with Sonic the Hedgehog.

This isn’t the first time SEGA has done a crossover with one of their properties in “SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2.” “SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2” has done two crossovers with the “Bayonetta” series.

“SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI Liberation Dx2” is free to get on the Apple and Google Play stores.
