The 'SQUARE ENIX JAZZ -CHRONO TRIGGER-' Album is Now Open to Buy

The fifth album in Square Enix's Jazz Series is out now, featuring eleven jazz arrangements from the iconic JRPG "Chrono Trigger."

Arrangers Eijiro Nakagawa and Ryu Kawamura have done multiple "Chrono Trigger" songs in the style of jazz for the "SQUARE ENIX JAZZ -CHRONO TRIGGER-" album. The album is available on the Square Enix Store for $34.99USD.


The eleven tracks arranged include:

  • Chrono Trigger

  • Peaceful Days

  • Frog's Theme

  • Lavos' Theme

  • Robo's Theme

  • The End of Time

  • Battle with Magus

  • Schala's Theme

  • Far Off Promise

  • World Revolution

  • To Far Away Times

The track Chrono Trigger was done in a different session from the version included in the "Square Enix Jazz Vol.2" Album.


Eijiro Nakagawa is a trombonist who has worked on a few game titles, such as "Mario Kart 8." Ryu Kawamura is a bassist who has also worked on a few game titles, such as creating arrangements for "Nier Automata."


The "SQUARE ENIX JAZZ -CHRONO TRIGGER-" album also includes Ken Higeshiro on drums, Takana Miyamoto on piano, Naoto Suzuki on guitar, and Ryoji Ihara on the saxophone & flute.


"Chrono Trigger" released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, becoming one of the most iconic and critically acclaimed video games of all time.

The Square Enix Jazz Albums began in 2017 with the release of "Square Enix Jazz - Final Fantasy" in 2017.


The track Wind Scene was also given a jazz arrangement in 2018 in the "Square Enix Jazz Vol.2" album, with Ryu Kawamura arranging the track.
