The April 8 release date for the Nintendo Switch title "Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp" has been delayed. The delay due to 'recent world events' is because of the Russia-Ukraine war.
"Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp" is a remake of "Advance Wars" and "Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising," which take place in war settings.
The second "Advance Wars" title includes a large-scale invasion on a country, which is what Russia is try to do with Ukraine.
Some Twitter users responding to the news were understanding of the news given current real-world events.
However, there are users on Twitter who are saddened or confused by the delay.
This is the second time " Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp" has been delayed, with its original release date being Dec. 3, 2021, before it's now cancelled April, 8, 2022 release.
Nintendo will announce updates on the new release date for "Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp."
"Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp" is a strategy role-playing game (SRPG) where players control soldiers, tanks, and more on a map. Players instruct their units to attack the enemy.
To win, the player must "take down enemy squads and capture towns and bases to secure victory and keep the peace," according to the "Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp" Nintendo Store page.
The "Reboot Camp" remake is being developed by WayForward, who is most well known for their work on the "Shantae" Series.
The original "Advance Wars" was released in 2001, with "Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising" being released in 2003, both for the Gameboy Advance.
"Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp" was originally going to be released on the first "Advance Wars" 20th anniversary year-wise.
