Hello Games Announces New Update 'No Man's Sky' to Celebrates its Fifth Anniversary

"No Man's Sky" came out five years ago on August 9, 2016 for PlayStation 4, and to celebrate, the next update, Frontiers, has been teased.

The Frontiers update, like other major updates for "No Man's Sky," will be free.

In a PlayStation Blog regarding the anniversary and announced update, Sean Murray, the founder of Hello Games, the development behind "No Man's Sky," said "in some ways it is just another update, but in other ways it’s a missing piece of the sci-fi fantasy that we’ve always wanted to add, and very fitting for our fifth anniversary."

"No Man's Sky" originally released with a poor launch due to unfulfilled promises, missing gameplay mechanics (which are listed in the embed below), and a rushed product. This made players disappointed, especially given how anticipated the title was.

However, overtime Hello Games released major updates for "No Man's Sky" to add those missing mechanics and fulfill their promises, redeeming themselves to most of the gaming community.

Even the table above is outdated, such as how Sandworms were added in the Origins update last year in September.
