The NES homebrew title created by nine-year-old indie developer SJ Games is physically available again.
The 2020 NES Homebrew title is now available to pre-order physically again, this time at Limited Run Games until May 22, 2022 for $59.99USD. The physical release includes authentic NES packaging and a NES-styled instruction manual..
This isn't the first time "Kubo 3" has been available physically. In 2020, physical copies for "Kubo 3" were sold.
According to the YouTube description of the physical release trailer, there's a "possibility to order the cartridge only version, without box or manual."
In "Kubo 3," the player controls KUBO as he saves the kidnapped people from Moglar, an infamous villain.
"Kubo 3" is an action game featuring both diagonally-down and side-scrolling platforming action. KUBO can shoot his trusty gun to defeat enemies.
"Kubo 3" released in 2020 on itch.io by indie developer SJ Games. Despite the name, "Kubo 3" is the only "Kubo" game in the series.
SJ Games develops homebrew games for the NES and Nintendo Famicom. Other games from SJ Games include "ROB.N," "Rescue Time," and the demo for "SkateCat."

SJ Games is Seiji, who was seven-years-old at the time of the release of "Kubo 3." Seiji's father, Sylvain, alias Dale Coop, helped with the technical aspects while Seiji created "Kubo 3."
Dale Coop is also an indie developer who has worked on titles such as "Underground Adventure," "Press Start Game," and more.
