Submissions must be made within in the 72 hour timeframe, must be original, and must not be too low-effort. Planning for a submission could be done ahead of time, the creation of the submission is limited to the 72-hour time window.

Failing to follow the above could mean not receiving the in-game medal for participating. The TF2Maps 72hr Participant medal is a cosmetic that can be worn on any of the nine playable characters.

Players can donate $5USD or more to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital before Jan. 14 to receive the TF2Maps Charitable Heart 2021 medal for donating. Donations must be here and donators must leave a link to their Steam profile to get the in-game medal.

So far over $5,000USD has been raised for the charity drive.

The TF2Maps 72 Hour Jam started in 2016, with the 2017 72 Hour Jam starting the charity drive tradition. Since then, it has become an annual event for the TF2Maps community.

TF2Maps was founded in 2007 and is a community for the map modelers, level designers, modelers, and more in the "Team Fortress 2" fanbase.

TF2Maps was founded 11 days before "Team Fortress 2" launched with "The Orange Box" on Oct 10, 2007.

This is the third "Team Fortress 2" charity event this month, with prior events including Operation Binary Blackout and the TFConnect Charity Event.
