The Platformer Fighter 'MultiVersus' Revealed by Warner Bros. Games for 2022

Superman, Arya Stark, and Batman can now fight Bugs Bunny, Jake the Dog, and Shaggy, and the Nothing should be afraid.

Warner Bros. Games have announced their platform competitive free-to-play fighting game. "MultiVersus" will be coming to most modern consoles excluding the Nintendo Switch in 2022.

"MultiVersus" was announced around an hour ago on the Warner Bros. Games UK and Ireland YouTube channel by Player First Games CEO, Tony Huynh. The reveal touched on aspects of the game such as its roster and gameplay.

The roster includes many iconic characters such as Tom & Jerry, Batman, Steven Universe, and more voiced by voice talent such as Kevin Conroy and Tara Strong. There is also an original character named Reindog.

Reindog's description mentions the antagonist(s) of the game, the Nothing. The Nothing destroyed Reindog's world, leaving him the only survivor. The Nothing are also mentioned in Tom & Jerry's description.

Excited players can sign up for the "MultiVersus" playtest on the "MultiVersus" website.

"MultiVersus" is being developed by Player First Games, who were founded in 2019.

"MultiVersus" is a response to the platformer fighter, which started with "Super Smash Bros." for the Nintendo 64. This year, Nickelodeon released their own platformer fighter titled "Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl," which was met with a lot of fanfare and praise.

Platformer fighters such as "Brawlhalla" and "Rivals of Aether" also received praise.

"MultiVersus" was leaked weeks earlier, revealing some of the roster and the project. However, some information, such as NetherRealms Studios working on the game, have now been proven false.
