Hundreds of simulation games are on sale until April 4.
Edit: The Sim Fest: Hobby Edition event started at 1:03 p.m. EDT. Additionally, at the time of writing, the event was spelled Simfest: Hobby Edition. The correct spelling was added in the article, but cannot be corrected in the headline unfortunately.
Steam is celebrating over hundreds of games that simulate a job/hobby starting today. The event includes demos, livestreams from developers, and sales until April 4 at 1 p.m. EDT.
The event includes games that include every or most of the attributes listed below:
First-person view of a hobby/job
Gameplay that's intense/specific and correct to the actions of a hobby/job
Material/Equipment/Machinery reproduced digitally
Gameplay elements to enhance job/hobby replication
Gameplay at a slower pace to replicate hobby/job consummately
A game setting with more focus on non-fictional activities, portraying the job/hobby as non-fictional even if the job/hobby is fictional
The Sim Fest: Hobby Edition does not include sports games as, according to the Steam Documentation page on Sim Fest: Hobby Edition, "we'll cover those titles in a separate event later in the year."
There will also be "12 hours" of livestream content featuring games such as "House Flipper," "Cooking Simulator," and more.
Livestreams start Friday, April 1.
The last event like this on Steam was the February 2022 Steam Next Fest, which will also be returning in June 2022.
