The sequel to an arcade classic will hit modern consoles next month, and in physical form too.
The sequel to the sports title from the Neo Geo is getting a physical release that's up for pre-purchase for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Pre-orders close January 16, 2022.
There are the Standard Editions and Collector's Editions. The Collector's Editions come with:
A physical copy of "Windjammers 2'
Character Art Cards
Trophy keychain
The original "Windjammers 2" soundtrack
A wearable replica of the mustache of one of the characters
MVS-Style box with a limited Art O-Sleeve
"Windjammers 2" is releasing Jan. 20, 2022, four days after the physical release ships. "Windjammers 2" is a flying disc arcade game where the disc must reach the yellow or red line on the opponent's side.
The original "Windjammers" was released in 1994 by Data East. Data East developed multiple arcade games, such as "Super Burger Time," "Bad Dudes," and more. In 2003, Data East filed for bankruptcy.
Dotemu will be developing and publishing "Windjammers 2." Dotemu releases etro games or remakes of retro games on modern gaming platforms.
Some of these include: "Ys Chronicles I (Ancient Ys Vanished Omen)" for mobile phones and "Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap."

Dotemu was founded in 2007, working with not only SNK, but also companies such as Square Enix.
