'Corpse Party (2021)' Releases this October on Modern Consoles and PC

The latest remake of "Corpse Party" is arriving October 20 outside of Japan.

The 2021 remake of "Corpse Party" will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, GOG, and Humble. The 2021 remake will include two new extra chapters and two new characters.

The new characters are the bookish and kind, Ryoka Iwami, and the cheerful late-night streamer with pneumonia, Miku Shirayume. Both girls are friends in the same academy.

"Corpse Party" is a horror RPG Maker game where the player navigates as multiple high school students transported into a dangerous and supernatural elementary school. "Corpse Party" has graphic imagery and dark subject matter.

"Corpse Party" originally started on PC-98 computers in 1996 in Japan as a much shorter game. Today "Corpse Party" has multiple entries including the sequel anthology, "Corpse Party: Book of Shadows," the 3D trilogy finale "Corpse Party: Blood Drive," and more.

There is a version of "Corpse Party" on Steam, however it's the original PC version released in 2008, "Corpse Party: Blood Covered." While the story is the same: most extra chapters are missing, there are no cinematic graphics, different voice cast, different lighting, and different visuals.

The PC version would be improved with the release of "Corpse Party Blood Covered: ...Repeated Fear" on the PlayStation Portable in 2010, improving the graphics and adding more content.
